Marcia developed her unique style that is built upon the evolution of her characters. In movies like Millers Crossing, The First Women's Club, Meet Joe Black, Mona Lisa Smile, The Hoax, and Used People, her versatility as well as her range of characters have been praised. She will be seen in Fifty Shades of Grey by Universal, where she portrays Christian Grey's mother. The film is scheduled to be released on Valentine's Day, 2015. Recent projects include Elsa & Fred starring the legendary Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer and the ABC comedy show Trophy Wife which starred Malin Ackerman, Bradley Whitford and Michaela Watkins as well as Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight, starring Emma Stone, Colin Firth and Jacki Weaver. Harden played Rebecca Halliday, a First Amendment attorney in Aaron Sorkin's HBO show The Newsroom. The critically-acclaimed episode aired this past fall. Marcia has chosen a life away from mainstream Hollywood by straddling studio and independent films and television and theatre.
