Ricci was the youngest of four children born to Sarah Murdoch and Ralph Ricci in Santa Monica, California. In the 1960s, her mother was employed as an Ford Agency Model. She then became an agent for real estate. She was the daughter of a lawyer, as a counselor for drug addiction, a natural scream therapist as well as fitness instructor. Ricci stated she believed that her Italian origins are the direct consequence of her surname that she holds. In four to five generations the Italian couple married Irish women. They had all their sons. The Irish got married to more women, and had more children. Ricci moved from Italy to Montclair from Italy along with her family. She went to Montclair High School as well as Montclair High School. Later, she attended Professional Children's School in New York City.
