When she was 13, after ten years of singing and dancing classes to her credit, she along with her mother travelled on a journey to L.A. for a year to find out if they could have a career in show business. In less than two months she landed her first pay job. dancing in the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. According to her "I utilized my education to sing and dance in a variety of ways." "The training you gain from that is wonderful as an actor." O'Toole's role as a debutant on screen in My Three Sons was followed by roles in Gunsmoke and The Mod Squad. In spite of her success both in television and film she is a theater enthusiast. After a six-year run in Smallville She decided to pursue a career in theatre as she was performing for the last ten years. After moving to New York, she had her debut on stage as a seagull in The Sea Gull. She's appeared in a variety of Off-Broadway shows, including Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
