Luciana Paluzzi
Luciana Paluzzi is one of the many brunettes groomed to become international stars after the death of Gina Llobrigida. She was on both sides of Atlantic through the '50s on films like Three Coins in the Fountain (1954) and Sea Fury (1958), the actress. Paluzzi was given a chance at American TV stardom in the character of Simone Genet on the 1959 espionage weekly Five Fingers. The year was 1965 when she met with the Bond producers to be considered as the lead character Domino Derval in Thunderball. Terence Young, the director was willing to offer Fiona Volpe the role as the villain. She was one of very few women who was able to stand up to the temptation of Mr. Fiona and, in a retribution she is killed to the ground of the bar by Bond's comrades. Luciana Paluzzi was able to continue her European career throughout the 1970s through this film. Films like Captain Nemo & The Underwater City (in 1969), The Six Million Dollar Man (in 1973) along with The Klansman(in 1974) as well as The Greek Tycoon were all produced during that time.
